Be on the lookout for...

Now that summer is in full swing and we are experiencing a record-setting heat wave, wasp nests are growing in explosive fashion and this potential problem is not to be taken lightly. In fact, right now they are the most dangerous and potentially deadly pest that are customers are exposed to. To safeguard your home and your family you'll want to be increasingly vigilant right now. Here's what to look for.

Do you hear scratching, crackling or buzzing sounds in your ceiling or wall? If you do, please take the time to pay particular attention to finding out what could be causing these sounds. Look at the exterior adjacent to the noise to see if you can detect a flight pattern into the area or other wasp activity.

In addition, you should look for a bulge in the wall. It might also be warm to the touch. By all means, do not pound or push on the wall as this could result in providing a doorway into your home for potentially hundreds of wasps.

Outdoors you should walk your property looking for nests hanging from beneath roof eaves, under decks and nearby trees and shrubbery. Be aware and watch for flight patterns into birdhouses, unused grills, RVs, boats, rockery and even the ground.

At this time of year wasp nests can be very large and extremely dangerous. If you see any of the signs noted above, we recommend you contact Cascade Pest Control immediately so that we can come out and review the situation. The treatment for this problem is covered in your periodic Inspect and Protect Service plan. Visit us at www.cascadepest.com or call 888-989-8979 to schedule an appointment.
