...for the big nut farms of Hawai'i. It was wonderful! To be one with the trees and to see the bees, was a special treat.
We take a walk amongst the mac nut trees on the big island. (How cool is that!)

Sometimes we forget how great it is just to work. As we stepped cautiously into 2009, we were able to take a quick trip to the Big Island, Hawai'i. This is where our friends, the wonderful people who make the Big Island Bees buzz, reside - Garnett, the artisanal beekeeper, and Whendi, the artist who fills the jars with the island wonder.

With great graciousness they took time out of their busy lives and spent a day taking us out and about to see the bees, who were busy pollinating the great Macadamia Orchards for the big nut farms of Hawai'i. It was wonderful! To be one with the trees and to see the bees was a special treat. Read more and see some pictures.

Domaine De Marquiliani A.O.C. - France - on sale
BUY CORSICAN OLIVE OIL

If you haven't tried Corsican Olive Oil yet you should! Decidedly French, with the twist of Mediterranean provenir. Low in acidity, this oil holds its own for years. These are the characteristics that the French like in their olive oil - smooth, clean and buttery. We have been offered by our good friend and cheesemonger-extraordinaire, Olivier, a very sweet deal on the last of last year's bottling of this oil. He brings this oil in not because he moves great quantities, but because he loves it. This is a very limited supply offer at a truly amazing price. We need to move it out so he can bring in the new crop on his next shipment from Corisca.

At this price you can afford to use this oil with abandon...

One of our all time favorite cookbooks.
