The Reed Avocado
This Buttery, Protein Rich Fruit is Nature's Candy!
I dream a dream of two slices of a Reed Avocado, topped with crunchy smoked bacon, sandwiched between two slices of lightly buttered bread. Truly a food dream made in heaven.
It’s time to start thinking about the Reed Avocado's luscious, pure, smooth flesh. And, while you are thinking about it, you might as well pre-order before we run out. (typically ships in September)
Organic Reed Avocados from California are amazing! About 90% of the avocado crop in the US is grown in California -- and about 90% of those are Hass Avocados -- the favored avocado fruit of the US grocery stores. The Reed is a side crop -- reserved mostly for the local Farmer's Markets in and around southern California. But, Reeds are so delicious and so far superior in texture and taste, they really should take center stage.
Like so many great foods, you can taste their perfection. Like a Chef who has the skill to create a great dish, the farmers' connection to the earth contributes significantly to the fruits of their labor and thus gives a reason to live. And we live for Peter and Bonnie Herman's fabulous Reed Avocados!

Tasmanian Leatherwood!
It's a honey lover's honey!
Tasmanian Leatherwood honey has been recognized by connoisseurs of food around the world for well over 100 years. The special appreciation for Leatherwood honey is derived for several reasons. First, its unusual flavor, sweet floral aroma and its complex aromatic palate that lingers. Second, its quality factors, bright golden color, low moisture and balance of sugars. And third, its healthy vitality.
Tasmania is the smallest and most southern state of Australia, situated some 250 kilometers south of the continental mainland. The island contains a very diverse range of natural elements, rugged mountains, alpine moors, rich agricultural land, gentle valleys with historic towns and villages, hundreds of lakes and sweeping white beaches.
The Leatherwood trees begin to flower in mid January and continue until early March. The tree bears an abundance of extremely delicate white flowers with a fresh piquant scent. Leatherwood is so named because of the leathery texture of its leaves.

Gravenstein Apples
A cider vinegar that will rock your world!
There is a handful of products that really depict what we are all about. This is one of them. Think everyday apple cider vinegar, and you think of a kitchen cleaner and one that tastes just like that.
But when you taste this Apple Cider from artisan Albert Katz you realize this is what food is all about! It’s so amazing you can taste the Gravenstein apple!
The Gravenstein apple has played an important role in the history and culture of California's western Sonoma Valley since the 19th century.
The Gravensteins hit peak planting in 1945, when over 14,000 acres of the area's gently sloping hills were covered with the trees. Today, there are far fewer, as thousands of acres have been replanted with grape vines and houses.
Slow Food has declared the Gravenstein apple to be a "Heritage" food that should be protected from further encroachment from development!
This full of life cider vinegar has the essence of baked apples. Think pork chops, cabbage, and dressings.
One taste and you will be hooked ...
