Winery L.I.V.E. Certification
From design to our recent winery LIVE Certification, our commitment to environmentally conscious practices continues to evolve.
Our approach as a small business has always been pragmatic regarding our efforts to practice both fiscal and environmental sustainability. In the past we have not over-emphasized the green aspects of our wines, viticulture and winemaking protocol in our marketing literature because consistent and responsible environmental practices always seemed natural here at Penner-Ash. Our estate vineyard has been certified L.I.V.E (Low Input Viticulture and Enology) since 2007. We are now pleased to announce that our winery joins our vineyard in L.I.V.E. certification. Learn more about the L.I.V.E. certification.
The 2009 Vintage

2010 bud break at our Estate Vineyard – off to a great start for the growing season.
The vintage started off very strong with great set and potentially larger clusters. We thinned heavily based on our early cluster counts and weights. As the season progressed we were happy we thinned aggressively as it appeared we were going to have very large berries and possibly lighter wines due to the large berries. Cellar Crawl Tastings at Penner-Ash Wine Cellars – May 2 and June 6
An absolutely unique experience! Taste through the 25 wines from some of Oregon's best winemakers. Designed to explore how soil, geology and the winemaker's approach impacts the expression of wine. In 2006, five winemaker friends — Terry and Ted Casteel (Bethel Heights Vineyard), Steve Doerner (Cristom Vineyards), Ken Wright (Ken Wright Cellars), Lynn Penner - Ash (Penner-Ash Wine Cellars) and Laurent Montalieu (Soléna Cellars) — picked fruit from the same five vineyards, with each winemaker creating their own barrel from each lot, then bottled and named it after their tasting group Cellar Crawl. $125 per person. RSVP to 503.554.5545 or
email Kelley. Limited seating.
