My name is Lindsey and I am 25 years old. I have always had troubles drinking formula when growing up, and to be honest I was especially not good with the whole diet for many years. Formula was the main problem and stubbornness was another problem. I went to camps in Wisconsin, Georgia and Texas and at each one I would feel really good about being on diet and I would come home and get back into the same loop of being off diet. Although I never actually considered myself “off diet” I can say that many years did not go well. I tried every taste testing for formulas I could find, and yet none of the formulas satisfied me. I was at a turning point in my life with my diet when I started drinking the formula at age 15. I felt good and it wasn’t as hard to drink. That was when I was on Phenyl-Free. Then three months later they discontinued it, and replaced it with the repulsive flavor of vanilla. I am sure I am not the only one who absolutely hated this change. Many years went into researching and trying formulas until my basement became a museum of rejected formulas from years past. Then one fateful day I was told of a formula that was pre-made. It was called Vitaflo, and it had a new look to it. In the world of formula, however I became habituated to new and improved packaging. I tried the orange flavor and instantly fell in love with it, although I did still have issues with drinking formula from the lack of routine.
When I decided I wanted to become pregnant I found that I would have to start drinking four Vitaflo orange cooler’s of the 20 variety. That was a lot of volume but I was certain I could do it. For the first time in my life starting last November I was consistently drinking formula and a further bonus was that I was ready to become pregnant. It was May of the next year (and the first month of actually trying) that I became pregnant. Ever since the pregnancy Vitaflo is and will continue to be the only formula I drink, it was suggested I switch to a higher calorie formula at one time but I preferred to just add more coolers to my day. A phrase that my mother never dreamed would ever pass my lips.

My twenty-one year old daughter Melissa has been drinking Vitaflo MMA/PA Express for 6-7 years.
For her entire life, diet management has been the key to Melissa's survival with the rare metabolic disorder Propionic Acidemia. And like so many other kids with “PA” or other rare organic acidemia disorders, Melissa has been tube-fed her special formula (she calls her "milk") since she was two years old. Tube feeding was elected because it gave us greater control over Melissa's intake volume and it avoided having to deal with the taste of the milk. To this day Melissa gets her milk via a tube three times each day.
Lunch has always been our challenge. Since the first grade, Melissa brought her milk to school for lunch. While the other kids went to the cafeteria, she would head down to the nurse’s office and do her own bolus feeding. Doing the bolus wasn't the problem for Melissa; it was missing all-important social time.
 When we discovered Vitaflo MMA/PA Express, we instantly knew that there was a new option for Melissa. Now, rather than leaving her social network by heading to the nurse's office, Melissa could bring her milk along to the cafeteria and have lunch with her friends. The taste of Vitaflo MMA/PA Express made drinking her milk no longer a problem. In fact, she has made it a part of her lunchtime routine with her friends. Each day her friends will lobby to be "the shaker" ... the one who shakes that little green cup after Melissa fills it with water. Problem solved! She loves the “tropical fruit” flavoring.
Melissa leads a very active life, including the many sports within Special Olympics. She participates in Bowling, Basketball, Tennis, Gymnastics and Golf.
