MSUD Family Support Group Symposium Re-cap
 The MSUD Family Support Group Symposium 2010 was held at the Marriott Lincolnshire Resort in Lincolnshire, IL on June 24th-26th. Approximately 210 people attended the three day event, with MSUD families from all over the country in attendance. In addition, MSUD families from Australia, Brazil, Canada, Costa Rica, England, Honduras, Israel, and Peru attended the conference. Overall, more than 50 individuals with MSUD attended the event.
A reception was held on the first evening of the conference where families enjoyed renewing old friendships and meeting new families. The second day was a full of interesting seminars covering a variety of topics by speakers including Dr. Loren Pena from IL (MSUD Introduction and History), Dr. Barbara Burton from IL (Treatment of MSUD), Dr. Brandon Lee from TX (Development of Novel Drug Therapies for MSUD), and Dr. George Mazariegos from PA (Liver Transplant and Liver Cell Transplant).
The final day of the conference started off with a motivational presentation by John Parker from TN. Heather Bausell, RD from IL shared her knowledge about nutritional issues related to MSUD, and several more interesting presentations rounded out the day.
Those with MSUD enjoyed delicious low protein meals including foods prepared by Chef Jeff Masse. The low protein eggs served each morning were especially popular!
