Banana Bread Gluten Dairy Free Mix
To Mix or not to mix
Ode to Banana Bread - sir-mix-a lot

To mix, or not to mix? That is the question -

Whether 'tis nobler to grind your own

Thus reveling in your suffering, pretentious fortune,

Or to tell the truth and admit to mixing,

And, by opposing, ease? To bake, to eat -

In the end it is the same is it not?

The flour is shared too - 'tis consumption

Devoutly to be baking! To bake, to eat.

To eat, perchance to dream - ay, there's the mix,

For in that ease of making can you dream of good food?

When we whisk and add the eggs to this divine package,

Must give us pause. Respect the past and ease into the future.

A favorite banana bread recipe, made with as many bananas as you can muster, is a great thing. It is one of my favorite easy breads to make. The problem is, I am rarely able to gather overripe bananas and a time to bake together. It's really not much time to make from scratch, but there is something about a mix that makes it seem so much quicker!

Open the bag and you can smell the quality of ingredients! Get a bowl, cut open and pour the contents of the inner bag, along with a banana, 2 eggs, rice bran oil. Mix with a whisk and put in the loaf pan. 50 minutes or so and you.re done. It is best when hot, I think, though I really don't know as it was gone before it got a chance to cool.

A couple of hungry thespians, random transients who passed thru the kitchen and poof, it was all gone. That's how good it is!

And don't let the fact that it is gluten
and dairy free make you wonder! None of the thespians knew, nor, clearly, did they care. It tasted just like they wanted, only better!

Chocolate candy sticks
The secret Chocolate
Sometimes chocolate should be candy

This secret, high-end chocolate comes shaped like sticks. Perfect for baking, even better for munching on out-of-hand!

We found this out when we left a handful lying around while testing it. Next thing we knew, those same pesky thespians, tired from their Twelfth Night, consumed our little pile of chocolate.

Don't stop at just eating. They melt quickly so they're perfect for stirring your morning coffee or adding to hot chocolate. Add to a scoop of vanilla ice cream or add one to your morning oatmeal!

Priced like a cheap candy bar, they're this little secret treat that you can't just eat one!

Satisfying chocolate for a quick snacking munch.

Jaipur Avenue Chai Tea from India

Chai Tea!
A luscious blend of spices!

Here, in America, we have adopted the language of other cultures to describe many things including food.

Chai Tea is one of those descriptives we have taken on. Describing a particular style of tea from India. (Translated literally, it means Tea Tea) An easy-to-remember name is an easy way to differentiate a “cup-of-tea” to a tea that is filled with wonderful spices. That would be Chai.

Chai is traditionally a decoction of cinnamon bark, cloves, black peppercorns, fresh ginger, cardamom and specific black tea. The more modern, on-the-go version takes form in many ways, including this perfectly easy-to-make packet of “Chai” tea.

This authentic Indian Chai is the inspiration of one woman to bring her native “drink”, which she was missing and could not find locally here in Seattle.

Nothing like a food memory (that you can’t have) to drive you to drink!

Short of making a decoction yourself, a methodical, time well spent process (and finding the right tea might be the hardest part), this Chai might just be the the closest you can get to authentic Indian Chai without being there.

And it’s easy! Mix with hot water or milk & cream, your choice, and you will have the wonderful, sweet mix of spices in your next Tea Chai!
