Boo!
Have a Zing Zzang Halloween
There is one basic rule for picking Halloween candy. Pick the ones you want to eat!
In general, we only eat high fructose candy on long drives… something about popping candy while on a highway that just seems right.
But this last trip to LA it wasn’t the same. I took a bunch of Zzang bars (no fake sugar here) to share with my Aunt, but they never made it. I ate them. All of them. And it was way better than what you can get at the gas station!
Zzang bars are great though not quite perfect when you are driving. Now, though we have the perfect candy just-in-time for the holiday. Halloween that is.
With just the right mix of milk chocolate and puffed rice in a bite size bite, these are perfect. Pop-one-in and it’s good and satisfying! And like all Zzang’s no sticky stickiness to the sides of the teeth. Just good clean fun.
36 Karamel Krunch Mini candy bars all wrapped up and ready to go.
Oh and my second rule is don't answer the door and keep the lights off when the trick-or-treaters come, otherwise word will get out and they will be gone!

Mojito Marmalade
Orange & Whiskey
Mojito Marmlade.
Open the top and take a big whiff and it smells like lemon with a twist. It's the citrus combination that makes it so sublime.
Dive in to the bottom and mix it up with your spoon and get your palate ready.
It's a lemon lime treat to the tongue. Mojito Marmalade has got a swagger to it and it’s not too sweet.
In the end, you get that skin sharpness that keeps you guessing. Straight up it's a wonderful combination, and when you pop it on the English muffin, the rum jumps and comes through with every bite.
This one so interesting it seems like it's perfect for dipping just not sure for what—maybe shrimp, maybe baby octopus or a nice soft cheese.
Orange and Whisky Marmalade
Open and peer down and you see the pieces of Seville orange floating about in a suspended state. Scooping, not mixing is how this marmalade is and what a wonderful scoop it is.
The whiskey gives an edge with a hint of bitterness and is what makes it so different than just an orange marmalade. A cup of tea paired with the orange and whiskey marmalade on an English muffin is a pretty perfect match in the afternoon setting sun.
Though it's not just about breakfast or even an afternoon treat it's calling out to a nice pork chop or even better a slab of Mutton.

Hawkshead Relish
We are Jammin' for these!
Strawberry and Black Pepper Jam
The initial smell is strawberry, like any strawberry jam.
Break the viscous top, dive the spoon up and down to stir the jam. Not jello jelly like, there are small bits and pieces inside that come with any strawberry.
To the tongue it feels smooth. To the buds the black pepper makes quite a statement.
It seems like it heats up just ever so slightly but as you squeeze the flavor out between your lips and as your tongue presses the top of your mouth with the strawberries being the predominate flavor, the pepper comes alive and if you linger long enough you can sense and feel the black pepper on the tip of the tongue as it tingles with delight.
Raspberry and Vanilla Jam
Though the names have tamed a bit, I still enjoy reading them. Now more literal, you really know what you are getting. Like Raspberry & Vanilla, a jam that sounds good enough, but when you taste it, wow, it really sings to you! The vanilla is just the right amount to make raspberry take off like Santa's Sleigh.
Fig and Orange Jam
A fabulously fruity jam that combines the orange of a marmalade with the figgyness of a jam, and a crunch from the fig seeds adding a delicious dimension. Don't use it just as a jam though, envision a pork chop or roast ham, adding it when you have just 10 minutes of cooking time left, to create a delicious glaze. Or heat and serve with crispy roast duck. Then again -- who can go wrong with a roast duck! Yum!
